Should a company have a consistent culture across its divisions? It depends on whether the company is a convolution or conglomeration. Convolutions are integrated companies that freely share resources between divisions and whose employees identify with the parent company. Conglomerations, on the other hand, serve as a bank to independently functioning divisions, which employees most strongly identify with. Each deserves its own cultural approach.
